Eine Kursfahrt führte den Leistungskurs Englisch der Klasse 11 unter Leitung von Anke Klitsch und Manja Teich nach London.

In June of 2022, our grade 11 English advanced course went on a trip to London. Upon arrival on Thursday the 9th of June, we moved to our hostel near Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The next morning, we made our way to Sky Garden, located on top of the skyscraper at 20 Fenchurch Street (also known as the "Walkie-Talkie"). A brief stay and some photos later, we toured Globe Theatre where Shakespeare plays are traditionally performed. We then went to see Tate Modern and a part of its huge collection of contemporary art as well as St. Paul’s Cathedral in the afternoon. On Saturday morning we had booked a tour through the Houses of Parliament. After a walk over Tower Bridge and a ride by underground, we got to enter the House of Lords and House of Commons, among other things. The afternoon consisted of a walk to Buckingham Palace and exploring the areas of Soho and Chinatown. Our third and final day in the British capital was mostly spent around Oxford Street and Camden Town, where we spent money above everything. Though equally crowded, Camden Town offers a much different vibe – you get the feeling that you can spot pretty much all existing types of people in this area only. Impressed by the amount of interesting art, food and other stalls, we made our way to a Turkish restaurant where we would have our last London dinner. After a rather short night we travelled back to Germany, looking back on a very fun and interesting trip which not everyone gets the chance to do.
